Please help! Re:Haseeb Chisty

Hello Everyone,

I have been working with a group trying to help the Chisty family for some time. Since the vote is so close I implore you to read the following and please send emails to the Texas State Speaker to pass H.C.R. 22. I was initially encouraged to involve myself in this from a Doenmah friend in the Middle East. The email for the Texas State Speaker is at the very bottom of the page. There is one day left to try and pass this bill to protect others from such horrendous acts. The email to contact the Texas State Speaker is correct for those who reside in other States and Countries. Please help.

Thank you,
Olen

Haseeb Chishty was a defenseless, highly mobile, and a free spirited individual; categorized as having autism and developmental disabilities. In 2002, the Chishty family decided to place Haseeb in the best care possible to enhance his mechanical and cognitive developmental skills. Haseeb went on to go live at one of America's "best" State schools to improve his motor development skills and receive cognitive therapy, the Denton State School in Denton, Texas. What the Chishty family didn't know at the time, was that DSS (Denton State School) was a thriving safe haven for sadistic abusive employees and had a flourishing culture of systematic physical abuse, substance abuse, neglect and torture taking place on its' premises.
During the month of September in 2002, the first anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington DC, Haseeb Chishty (a Muslim American) was repeatedly beaten and tortured to the brink of death by a handful of employees at the Denton State School, more prominently by a Californian man named Kevin Miller, who held racist motivations to sadistically torture, beat and nearly kill Haseeb, because of his Muslim heritage and ethnic background; per his testimony in the sworn confession tape. In addition, Miller also confessed of distributing and using illegal drugs on the State school premises, alongside other fellow employees. Consequently, Haseeb suffered a great deal of trauma to his body, which resulted in lifelong complications that included but weren't limited to the following conditions: complete body paralysis, GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome), inability to breath adequately, dependence on breathing-respiratory ventilator, inability to consume food by mouth, dependence on a feeding tube, multiple fractures in his abdominal cavity, intestinal perforation and diaphragm displacement. Haseeb Chishty's quality of life was stolen from him that day. Before this tragedy occurred, Haseeb was fully mobile and enjoyed the basic tenants of life (i.e. walking, running, eating, talking, smiling, and singing). Now, he is fully wheelchair bound; indefinitely for life. Since then, the Chishty family has consistently fought the State of Texas and the federal government in an attempt to receive adequate homecare services and a compensation package for Haseeb's lifelong necessities, welfare, and medical needs; but unfortunately this battle has come to an end with no resolution. The bureaucracy within the American State and federal political sphere has prevailed once again. As a result of the State's refusal to provide Haseeb Chishty with adequate services and resources; he is unable to come home.

Unfortunately, Haseeb is still currently residing at the Denton State School; where he was almost murdered 5 years ago. The Chishty family is still fighting to get him out. They tried to bring a lawsuit against the State of Texas, but the findings of a bias investigation conducted by State owned agency The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, didn’t show any conclusive evidence of the harm inflicted on Haseeb’s body by a "State owned property" (i.e. Miller did not use a “State owned broom or a baseball bat" to inflict harm on Haseeb’s body). Thus, the State of Texas is saying too bad, so sad; we are not responsible. And has refused to take any sort of responsibility for what their employees did to Haseeb on their premises. Furthermore, they have also refused to take responsibility for the full scale administrative cover up that followed for many months (i.e. The Chishty family was lied to and told that Haseeb sustained these injuries because of a seat belt while he was being transported a month before in a van). These lies were consistently fabricated, noted, and published in the findings of the State investigation and the police reports; until when finally, the Chishty family and their lawyers decided to open up an independent investigation to seek truth about what had really happened to Haseeb. This preposterous explanation for evading responsibility is called “Sovereign Immunity”, a type of immunity in common law jurisdictions tracing its origins from the early English law. Generally speaking, it is a doctrine that states that any sovereign State cannot commit a legal wrong and is immune from any sort of civil law suits or criminal prosecution; hence the saying, the king (or queen) can do no wrong.

Haseeb's mother, Farhat Chishty, who has been continuously by his side in the State school's infirmary alongside other family members; to ensure that no further harm is caused to Haseeb. She has lost everything during these trying times- her home, her job, her happiness, and her retirement. The entire family has gone through hell and is helplessly trying to get back; but the demons inside of the bureaucratic American justice system just won't let them. The family has been fighting for Haseeb's rights; losing their sleep and serenity in the process. Kevin Miller, one of the State employees responsible for Haseeb's current condition, is up for Parole after serving only 18 months of his pitiful 15 year sentence for the attempted murder of Haseeb Chishty. The Chishty family is kindly requesting and appealing to all of you to write and fax letters to the Governor of Texas, demanding adequate services be rendered to Haseeb; and the release of Kevin Miller be halted from the State's prison. If you believe Miller shouldn't be set free for almost killing a defenseless person with developmental disabilities, then please call the numbers listed below to voice your concerns. In addition, fax and/or mail your letters.
Demand Justice! ACT NOW! Time is of absolute essence!
If mailing a letter to the Governor of Texas:
Office of the GovernorAttn: Rick PerryP.O. Box 12428Austin, Texas 78711United States of America
If calling or faxing the Governor's office, please use the following number(s) respectively:
If calling to speak with a live person, please dial > + 1 (512) 463-2000
If faxing a letter of concern, please dial > + 1 (512) 463-1849
A defenseless man is mercilessly beaten to the brink of death and is helplessly confined to his bed for the rest of his life. While Kevin Miller (one of the main culprits) who almost took Haseeb's life, is currently being given a second chance at life. An animalistic barbaric savage who preyed on a defenseless person is being considered for parole by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles; and will be set free! Unless you act NOW, to voice your concerns.
We ask you.
Is this justice or a mere joke?
Let's keep this primitive savage locked up behind bars for the rest of his life, and demand capital punishment for his part in a premeditated attack on Haseeb's life.
Thanks for your support and participation in this effort.

God bless!

The Chishty Family
